MINT/LIKE NEW
Item has no flaws/Presents “Like New”. – Considered rare and hard to find in the world of vintage clothing…but lucky for you, Hyperion Vintage is not just a name. We specialize in vintage clothing of only the most exemplary condition, and therefore a significant percentage of our items fall into this category. You’ve come to the right place.

EXCELLENT
Presents with no noticeable flaws or issues. Appears to have been wonderfully cared for and preserved, having been hardly worn (if at all). The majority of our items fall into this category.

VERY GOOD
May have one or two minor flaws that are noticeable mainly upon scrutiny. Items in this category are usually just one small step below “excellent”.

GOOD
Has flaws that are possibly more apparent but do not detract from the desirability and wearability of the piece. Nonetheless, an extremely worthwhile vintage item.

FAIR
Significant flaws that may be irreparable. Items in this category are best appreciated “as-is” and simply cherished for their notable vintage details and intrinsic character.

Though it is rare for Hyperion Vintage to offer items that fall into this category – as we pride ourselves on offering items in only the best of conditions – an item may come up every once in a while that is special and worthwhile despite having noticeable flaws. Please trust that we do not offer these items lightly, and careful consideration has been put into their beauty and desirability.

A WORD ON ITEMS RECOMMENDED FOR DISPLAY OR STUDY
We offer several pieces that are true antique garments and textiles, with a large collection of Victorian and Edwardian clothing, as well as a few of our oldest items dating back to the 1700’s. Items of this age are usually not suitable for wear, even if they technically have little to no specific flaws or damage. It is our recommendation that – due to their extra delicate nature and growing rarity – most items dating to pre-1910’s not attempt to be worn. With items of this nature, we will give our informed opinion on the realistic wearability of each piece but any antique item is to be worn with great care and of course by wearing the buyer assumes all risk of possible damage or destruction.

LIGHTING
Hyperion Vintage uses “daylight balanced” studio lighting in order to best portray an items true color. Despite this, the appearance of colors may vary from one computer screen/monitor to another. Please contact us before purchasing if you are unsure of an items exact shade or vibrancy!

Additional Terms

DEADSTOCK
A product(s) that a company had bought or made but did not sell and is no longer available from direct retailers. Sometimes also referred to as “New Old Stock” (NOS) or “Old Stock”. A Dead Stock or NOS item has never been worn, but condition can range across the entire spectrum depending on storage conditions.

NEW WITH TAGS (NWT)
An item still has items original tags and has not been used. However, as with “Dead Stock” or “New Old Stock” items, condition of an item that is still “New With Tags” can range across the entire spectrum, so be sure to carefully read the full description of each item.
